Psalms With Purpose For Young People- Psalm 9: 8, 12

Here is a practical example to help understand-

 Psalm 9: 8, 12

And He will judge the world in righteousness;

He will execute judgment for the nations with fairness (equity).

For He who avenges blood [unjustly shed] remembers them (His people);

He does not forget the cry of the afflicted and abused.

Imagine there's a school where some students are constantly picking on others, bullying them and making them feel unsafe. This injustice has gone on for a long time, and the victims are feeling hopeless and helpless.

Psalm 9: 8, 12 in this context:

"He will judge the world in righteousness": The school administration finally decides to take action and investigate the bullying reports.

"He will execute judgment for the nations with fairness": The investigation reveals that some students are clearly responsible for the bullying, while others might have been unaware or were hesitant to speak up.

"For He who avenges blood [unjustly shed] remembers them (His people)": The school takes appropriate disciplinary measures to punish the bullies and create a safe environment for everyone.

"He does not forget the cry of the afflicted and abused": The school ensures that the victims have a chance to voice their concerns, feel supported, and receive any necessary counseling or help.

Lesson:

The psalm teaches us that God cares about justice and fairness. He is powerful enough to punish those who do wrong and protect those who are vulnerable. Even when things seem hopeless, God remembers the cries of the oppressed and takes action to bring balance and restoration.
