The Power of Our Words...

Outwitted- Edwin Markham-

He drew a circle that shut me out Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout But Love and I had the wit to win We drew a circle that took him in!

A friend shared this poem with me, by Edwin Markham, when I was 23 years old. It was as if my friend was able to see inside my heart and soul and described what he saw there…

We had both been on either side of that circle and discovered something so simple yet so life changing in the truth of the poem, that I am reminded of those words whenever I witness the conquering power of the Love of God…

Every time we choose forgiveness, or acceptance and love, we conquer the ignorance which hatred, judgment, and resentment brings into our lives…

How we treat and react to others, in what we say and do… will have an effect on our own lives… it can prolong our physical or mental suffering and pain… or it can free us from that and lift us up and heal us…

We should add to our world, more of what we want from it…

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.- Proverbs 18:21 (AMP)
