Oh Happy Day!...

Jesus was and is the proof of God’s love for us.

No matter how good we try to be, we all do things that are sinful according to God’s standards. There’s no such thing as a sin comparison chart where you can measure one person’s sin against another’s and declare a winner.

All sin is a debt that results in eternal death if left unpaid. But the most amazing news is that God has compassion for us sinners, and loves us so much that He doesn’t want even one of us to be lost for eternity. So He sent His Son Jesus to pay our sin-debt.

And all He requires of each sinner is to accept the gift of Jesus as Savior.

Jesus willingly came down from Heaven to be nailed to the Cross as our sin-sacrifice, and because of this, God forgives us for every single sin we commit.

Even the ones in the future, because when Jesus died for us, all of our sins were still in the future. It’s that very gift which also enables us to refrain from sinful behavior as we’re guided by the Holy Spirit.

It’s a very happy day when we realize that even though the powers of evil want us to live fearful, broken, tormented lives, Jesus not only paid our sin-debt but also wants us to have an abundantly blessed life.

God is so good to us!

Isaiah 54:9-10 NIV

“To me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again.

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
